Winter poses many challenges to vulnerable communities already living in hardship, particularly those living in poverty and also the displaced. Harsh weather conditions affect food supplies through hindering agriculture and slowing transport of perishables. The homeless or those living in inadequate shelters find it harder to withstand winter elements. Standard clothing is insufficient for protection against winter temperatures in a lot of regions.
IAC’s Surviving Winter projects are driven by a commitment to address these preventable sufferings. They are tailored to the specific needs of winter for the target regions to ensure that the communities can withstand the harsh conditions and safeguard their wellbeing. These projects promote food security, adequate heating and shelter, clothing, hygiene, and medical essentials and are adapted to mitigate immediate risks associated with winter for the regions. In short, the projects aim to protect human life and preserve dignity.
