Situation: The water infrastructure within Gaza Strip being a target of military operations over several years and over extraction due to high population density has deteriorated the level and quality of the groundwater aquifer in Gaza. Resulting saltwater intrusion into the coastal aquifer raises salinity levels of ground water necessitating desalination and purification prior to consumption. Al-Daraj District in Gaza Strip faces the same problem.

Aim: The aim of the project is to make water safe for consumption through desalination of water and through this contribute to ensuring the well-being of people in the area.

Intervention: Provision of a water desalination plant in Al- Daraj District in Gaza.
